our mission

Standard Apparel is innovating a new business model - one that offers our customers competitively priced, fashion-forward apparel, while providing our employees and their families a path toward economic opportunity.

Empowerment

Sweat Equity, Not Sweatshops

Every decision we make is rooted in our commitment to our workers. Here at Standard Apparel, we own our factories. We know our workers and their families personally. It's these human relationships that drive our business model. Our long-term goal is a completely worker-owned apparel company, and we're well on our way to that vision.

Innovation

From Our Hands to Yours

The fashion industry's inefficient supply chain, with its long line of middlemen adding their mark-ups, creates downward pressure on wages. Although there are certainly exceptions, most companies find the cheapest labor, and keep an arm’s length away from the factory so they can’t be held responsible for its practices. We found a better way.

Disruption

Clothing Without Compromise

We're trailblazing a new path. Our vision is a restructuring of the apparel supply chain, which will lead to the empowerment and respectful employment of garment workers throughout the world. By joining us, you'll set the stage for a successful new business model that can transform a long-neglected industry into a strong, healthy and respected workforce.

How? We cut down the supply chain.

We do it all ourselves, so there’s no subcontracting, no sourcing agents, no mark ups.

This gives us the freedom to set fair wages for our employees and fair prices for our customers.

Help us raise the standard.

We currently employ over 600 Hondurans, and although working within the current system is difficult, we've worked hard to create a progressive work environment for our employees. Not only do they earn more than the average garment worker, we pride ourselves on the fact that we grow our management team from within.

  • Fair wages and advancement
  • On site nurse
  • 3 month paid maternity leave plus two weeks vacation
  • Educational stipends for children's school supplies
  • Retirement or college fund contributions
  • Opportunity for an affordable home in a safe neighborhood
  • Holiday parties, health fairs, and soccer tournaments

The possibilities that can come from this new business model are endless. Two of our main goals for the immediate future include offering all employees the option of living in a safe neighborhood, and enrolling the children of our employees into a bilingual school. We believe that education is the path to middle class for our employees and their children.
